RESEARCH LIBRARY  

The library in the Collections and Research Division includes more than 10,000 volumes with an emphasis on mollusks, birds, and Delmarva ecosystems. The library is exceptionally strong in classic and rare systematics works on mollusks, as well as substantial holdings of recent monographs, reprints, and journals. The C&R library is not a circulating library, but researchers may use it by appointment.

The research library has a number of duplicate books and journals that it offers to other libraries and researchers:

Duplicate Books
As the result of donations to the Museum’s library, we have a number of duplicate books that we would like to offer to other libraries. These are offered only to libraries, museums, or other nonprofit institutions on a first come- first served basis. The books are free but requestors must reimburse the Museum for the cost of shipping (payable by check). Books can only be mailed to U.S. addresses and will be sent book rate unless otherwise requested. Please send your request (or any questions) to library@delmnh.org and include the title(s) you are requesting, the name of your institution, a statement of its not-for-profit status, and your agreement to pay for shipping costs.
