A special place for the Museum’s youngest visitors to enjoy hands-on fun is opening in October 2010! Interactive activities will transport kids inside a cave, streambed, meadow, and woodland to explore wildlife and habitats using their senses and simple tools. The renovations update the former Discovery Room, which experienced wear and tear in recent years and prompted visitor feedback for upgrades. The re-imagined space is designed to encourage interaction between children and their parents or caregivers, which is an important aspect of early childhood learning. Trained educators, docents, and volunteers will facilitate interactions and manage the flow of visitors if the room fills to capacity. |
