SUMMER CAMPS FOR 5- AND 6-YEAR-OLDS

5- and 6-year old campers can’t get enough of Summer Camp at the Museum!  Campers will enjoy the variety of interactive crafts, games, group activities, and stories, all designed for exploring nature. Campers should bring a bag lunch and labeled water bottle.  A morning snack will be provided.  Extended care is available before and after camp for an additional fee. Camp size is limited to 14.

Operation Observation

Date:                Monday - Friday, June 8 - 12
Time:                9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

In this camp campers will use all of their observation skills as we explore the great outdoors! They’ll hide like an octopus by creating a camouflaged shelter and search for birds by listening for their calls.


Ordinary Extraordinary Reptiles

Date:                Monday – Friday, June 22 - 26
Time:                9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Meet the Museum’s reptiles and amphibians for a close look at these extraordinary animals. Discover why reptiles and amphibians are different from all other animals. Your camper will never look at snakes and frogs the same way again!


Dinos, Dinos, Dinos
Due to the popularity of this camp, two sessions will be offered this week.

Calling all budding paleontologists!  We need help identifying footprints, looking at dinosaurs and their modern cousins, hunting for fossils, and much more.


Arctic Adventures

It may be hot outside, but it’ll be cool at camp as we travel to the North and South Poles to visit polar bears and penguins in their frozen homes.

The Duckbilled Platypus, Star-nose Mole and Hagfish might be some of the most bizarre animals on the planet.  Come with us and discover some of the slimiest, furriest, and strangest creatures on the planet.


The “Magic” of Camp
