"Taonius pavo is a cranchiid squid (family Cranchiidae) that is commonly found in the North Atlantic mid- waters," Liz said. "They can get pretty big – up to 660mm mantle length. We regularly catch smaller specimens (50-100mm) at Bear Seamount and at the Gully MPA."
