The Delaware Mineralogical Society is hosting three hands-on workshops at DMNH. Join us for one or more, and learn how to create wire-wrapped jewelry on September 9, hand knot beads on October 14, or carve soapstone on November 11. Classes are for adults only, and pre-registration is required.

Learn how to carve soapstone with modern tools and the tools American Indians would have used. A number of items can be made with the soap-stone cobbles from local streams near Indian quarries, ranging from amulets to masks to soapstone lamps. Students choose what they want to make.
