In celebration of the fall traveling exhibit, From Here to There, Delaware Photographic Society (DPS) members share images of animals in motion. As captured in these pictorial stories of migration, hunting, or even a moment of playful abandon, getting from here to there can be a captivating journey.
This is the case with Monarch butterflies, capable of flying as far as 3,000 miles to reach their winter homes. DPS member Jon Massey reflects, “That’s a very tiring journey, indeed. It’s no wonder Monarchs need some rest.” Jon’s image Migration Rest Stop captures Monarchs replenishing their energy before the continuation of a long journey.
DPS welcomes and encourages everyone to develop a lifelong interest in photography. Meetings are held most Mondays from October through May at 7:30 p.m. in the DuPont Pavilion, Cokesbury Village, 726 Loveville Road, Hockessin, DE.
