From Here to There: Canadian Minerals 2019-04-04T11:35:53-05:00

Project Description

Canada’s four billion year old geological core streches from the Arctic to the Great Lakes.

Minerals, precious and semi-precious gems have been unearthed throughout Canada. Notable specimens and locations include: emeralds (Yukon), diamonds (Northwest Territories), sapphires (Nunavut), ammolite (Alberta), uranium (Saskatchewan), gold (Ontario) and uvarovite (Quebec).

Rock collecting in Canada can be an amazing adventure and Delaware Mineralogical Society Members Teddi Silver, Tom Pankratz and others agree. Whether waiting along Nova Scotia’s shoreline for low tide to reveal agates or searching besides a long-forgotten dirt road, rock collecting is an exciting activity for rock hounds of all ages!
