Rent the Museum
The Delaware Museum of Natural History is a unique, fun, and social location for your special event or business meeting. Imagine impressing your guests with dinner by our dinosaurs and cocktails near a beautiful coral reef. The Museum provides a fabulous backdrop that creates naturally wonderful memories.
Located in Greenville, just five miles from downtown Wilmington and three miles from the Pennsylvania border; the Delaware Museum of Natural History is available in the evening for corporate events, weddings, anniversaries, holiday parties, family reunions, bar/bat mitzvahs, and more. All public gallery space is easily accessible on one level. During the day, our Community Room is available for meetings, as is the Ederic Exhibit Hall during selected weeks three times a year. Rental of the Museum offers access to:
- Three major galleries and our backyard gardens for ceremony, cocktail hour, receptions, and seated dinners
- Free parking and security after 4:30 p.m.
- Facility coordinator
- Community Room equipped with new A/V
- Free wifi
- Outdoor areas including patio, pollinator garden, and meadow
- Education programs presented by Museum educators (additional charge).
Ask us about other options. Additional rental items, such as chairs, tables, linens, etc., are available through Toscana Catering.
The Delaware Museum of Natural History can accommodate groups from 10 to 100 year round (and limited availability for larger groups). Evening Museum rentals are available between 4:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The Community Room can accommodate up to 60, and is available during Museum hours as well as for early-morning or after-hours meetings.
All dates are subject to availability. Our largest space, the Ederic Exhibit Hall, is available for an additional fee on specific days throughout the year as an addition to your rental.
Limited dates for large weddings (100-200 guests) or other weekend events using the Ederic Exhibit Hall:
- June 1, 8, & 15, 2019
- Selected dates in September & October 2019.
Friday and Sunday dates (as well as weeknights) are also available.

“When searching for venues, my husband and I knew we didn’t want the generic country club, farmhouse, or ballroom wedding. We wanted something fun and unique, but also practical. I had been to the museum when I was younger and when it popped up on WeddingWire it looked like an awesome idea. From the start Alexis was very helpful and accommodating; she answered any questions we had through the whole planning process. We booked the venue after meeting with her at the museum for a walkthrough and knew it was our wedding location! On wedding day, everything went smoothly and Alexis coordinated with all of our vendors to make sure everything flowed smoothly. All of our guests just loved the museum and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. The ceremony was held outside on the patio in front of the butterfly garden and the back field was a beautiful spot for our wedding party pictures. We chose to have dinner in the dinosaur room and dancing in the center atrium area. There was plenty of space for everything else like dancing, the guestbook, favors, card box, photobooth (in the African Watering Hole area), cake, etc. Thank you DMNH staff and especially Alexis for making our day special and memorable!”
“First of all, DMNH is an amazing museum. Second of all, it’s an even more amazing place to have an event. We booked the museum for our wedding reception and it was a wonderful experience. They have both indoor and outdoor space. You can use the Great Room if it does not have an traveling exhibit at the time, which is what we did. Your guests are free to wander the museum. It is very unique. Dinner and dancing amongst the dinosaurs was exactly what we wanted for our day to stand out. Highly recommend!”
