2019 was a year filled with investigating and interpreting nature and science, informing our visitors about the natural world, and inspiring people of all ages to make their own connections with the world around them. Through the efforts of our staff and volunteers along with enthusiastic partner organizations, sponsors, and individuals, we reached more than 80,000 people in the Museum and out in the community.
As a natural history museum, we look back to the past, study the present, and step into the future. The Evolution Trail, unveiled in October 2019, encapsulates all three, distilling billions of years into 1,500 feet, encouraging visitors to take a walk through time from Earth’s early formation to present time, and showing them how they can make a difference for our planet’s future. Every day, we see visitors of all ages taking a walk on the trail, and we are delighted to partner with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Country House, Acts Retirement-Life Communities, Wallace Landscape, Fairhope Graphics, Universal Services Associates, and Twelve Squared on the project.
In this annual report, we tell more stories of partnerships like these. Thank you for all of your support in 2019. It was a great year!
