Museum Hours & Reservations

The Museum opens for visitors Wednesday-Sunday, but the nature trail is closed indefinitely due to damage from the recent storm.

The Delaware Museum of Natural History is open to the public Wednesday-Sunday. Tickets can be reserved in advance for one hour timeslots. Walk-ins are permitted if space allows. The Museum is closed in between sessions for cleaning. The Museum is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Masks are required for all indoor areas as per guidance by the State of Delaware. Outside, masks are required when and where distancing is not possible. 

August hours (except for Thursdays): 10-11 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., or 1:30-2:30 p.m.

On Thursdays in August, admission is lowered to $3 for non-members. Timeslots for $3 Thursdays: 9:30-10:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-noon, 12:30-1:30 p.m., or 2-3 p.m.

Seniors (60 and up): $8

Toddlers (ages 1-2): $3

Babies under 12 months: Free

The Delaware Museum of Natural History is located five miles northwest of downtown Wilmington and three miles from the Pennsylvania border.

  1. Take I-95 South to Exit 3 (Rt. 322 West)
  2. Follow Rt. 322 West for 7 Miles to Rt. 1 South
  3. Follow Rt. 1 South for 8 Miles to Rt. 52 South
  4. Follow Rt. 52 for approximately 5 miles
  5. The Museum will be on your right
  1. Take I-95 North
  2. Take the Rt. 141 North exit towards Newport
  3. Follow Rt. 141 North to Rt. 52 North, towards Greenville
  4. Follow Rt. 52 for approximately 2 miles
  5. The Museum will be on your left
  1. Take Delaware Avenue out of the City
  2. Take a slight left onto Pennsylvania Avenue (Rt. 52)
  3. Follow Pennsylvania Avenue/Rt. 52 for approximately 5 miles
  4. The Museum will be on your left
  1. Take Rt. 202 South to Rt. 1 South
  2. Take Rt. 1 South to Rt. 52 South
  3. Follow Rt. 52 South for approximately  5 miles
  4. The Museum will be on your right
